MD Elevated, a physician founded organization, is dedicated to accelerating the professional advancement of physicians in training and improving physician’s knowledge, competence, performance and driving patient outcomes. We accomplish this mission by disseminating education that addresses the educational needs of providers to meet their professional practice gaps and excel in clinical practice all while helping those publish continuing medical education advance professionally. We are committed to providing education that is void of commercial interest, consistent with evidence-based medicine, and advances providers knowledge, competence, and/or performance to deliver safe and effective clinical care.
Our Founder and CEO, Sameer Aggarwal MD, like many of those in the process of becoming a physician struggled to publish research. The process is filled with problems: including lack of opportunities, lack of project autonomy, administrative burden, long timeline and no guarantee of success. This struggle ultimately contributed to him not matching into radiation oncology in the 2016 match. This was an embarrassing and humiliating moment in his life. Nevertheless, he completed his internal medicine training and as an attending physician realized that there were many educational needs for practicing physicians; however, they were out of an academic or educational setting. At the same time, he realized most of the presentations he gave as medical student and as a resident were created, given to a select audience, and then lived somewhere on his hard drive never to be disseminated or looked at again.
What if this work could help other clinicians become better at delivering clinical care?
What if these presentations could be published as a continuing medical education accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and help advance the professional development of those who publish?
Would it be meaningful or considered a notable accomplishment if “UpToDate” or “Medscape” asked you to give a presentation on a topic that was not only relevant to your specialty; however, for which evidence suggested other physicians could improve on this aspect in their clinical practice?
MD ELEVATED WAS BORN
